When I walk home at the right time in the afternoon there is the most gorgeous smell of freshly baking bread from a bakery near my house. It's gotten to the point where when the bus goes past the right block, all the windows on the street side are pushed wide open. After I get off the bus and am stopped at the traffic lights, if it's still the right time there's an oddly comforting steam and detergent smell in the air from the laundromat just down the street from my house. It reminds me vividly of clean cotton sheets when you're sick, and small comforts of home and sleep when you're upset. Saturday, June 28, 2003
I've got a tooth coming through. This seems absolutely absurd at my age, (yes, I know I talk like a 40 year old) but there it is. Most likely my 12 year old molars were just stuck in immigration.
I really think I'm running out of things to say. Add this to the fact that nobody comments (no, that's _not_ what my tagboard's for...) on what I write, I'm considering shutting down my blog. Nobody loves me.
Ever find something out about someone you're very close to and it puts them and everything they've done in a whole different perspective? I've been getting that a lot lately. I've learnt several things about people I consider friends, to either the extinction of that connection or the strengthening of my friendship with them. Sunday, June 22, 2003

Spaß in der Wißenschaft Although that is a very Feuerwerk-esque chapter name it is rather appropriate. I'm also feeling jampy about German because of my High Distinction. Anyway: Science is funny when your friends really *don't* give a damn. Tat: Well where do plants get their food from? Me: From the animals of course! Can't you just see broccoli standing there, when a leopard come by and said broccoli takes a huge BITE out of the leopard's leg? Monday, June 09, 2003
Spent the day with Aura, Anna and Kate wandering from the rocks, had lunch at Pancakes and down George Street to the QVB and then onwards to Haymarket. I have a new Hematite ring, Lip Gloss and items for a few people I know. Chocolate demon pancakes are SO damn fine, but you'd want them to be for $12.95 *grimace* Sunday, June 08, 2003
While listening to Vanessa Carlton's rendition of Paint it Black, I recalled that in primary school on the odd occasion that our Hag-of-a-teacher would be away, the Deputy Prinicpal would supervise us and we would spend the whole morning singing oldies songs and totally ignoring the set work. That is, of course, where I know the lyrics from Paint it Black from. He would bring his guitar and play the chords while we learned the lyrics, and 5 years on I still remember them. I'm not at all sure that teaching depressing rock songs to 12 year olds is a good sign in an authority figure. Not that I am or was complaining. Saturday, June 07, 2003
I spent the two periods of German speaking preperation I had fretting about the exam and trying to learn both the responses to the questions and the German lyrics to the Timewarp, via Babel Fish (Probably horribly, horribly, incorrectly....) . They turned out to be: RiffRaff: Es verblüfft; I was also puzzled/horrified to find out that Riff-Raff sing the Usherette at the beginning, although thankfully he IS NOT the owner of the scarlet lippy. Bloody HELL I don't know how it is that I haven't written anything in so long. I think it may be that I find myself extremely boring, contrary to the belief of my friends. Am puzzled. First thing's first: HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRONTWINE! love you muchly even though you have too many good CDs. Heh. Happy Birthdays also to Anna K (6th May) and Fiona (22nd May) I have finally cleaned up my room to about as good as it's gonna get; but seeing as you can see the majority of my floor I'm really not complaining, celebrated, yes. Endured a three-day camp to Canberra (that quaint little town in the wilderness south of Sydney.) the highlights of which were freezing my arse off when some dickhead said: "Hey, lets take them ICE SKATING AT NIGHT!" and Seeing the Matrix: Reloaded (not NEARLY as good as the first). |
